Indian playback singer Chinmayi comes out in support of Anjali

Sharing the video on her x account (former Twitter), the Indian playback singer defended Anjali for laughing off the situation. When Nandamuri pushed her, Anjali laughed it off and did not react to the situation, which many netizens did not like. Defending the same, Chinmayi wrote:

“The biggest problem I see with people sharing this is this. Look at her laughter. What she should have done. 1. When you are watching this on your device, it is not possible to respond according to the reaction of your audience. This is the most moral policing, which even the holier than thou – pure as snow – Harishchandra / Sri Ramachandramurthy or their relative incarnations will fail to understand.

2. Society itself refuses to hold men in power accountable who behave wrongly; especially when they come from money, caste and political power. When you have everything to gain and nothing to lose, do not tell women what to say and how to behave.”
