About Chandu Champion

‘Chandu Champion’ is a biographical sports action-drama inspired by the true story of India’s first Paralympic gold medalist Murlikant Petkar. The actor underwent a significant physical transformation for the film, which requires him to participate in wrestling and boxing in several scenes.

In a conversation with PTI, Aaryan spoke about the role and said, “The first time I heard the story, the first question I asked was ‘Is this true? Did this really happen?’ or ‘Is this fictional?’ There are so many twists and turns and historical moments in their story that it is almost impossible to believe. I was in shock when I first heard the story. But to my surprise, everything was based on real life events. I was just shocked and was even skeptical for a month because I wanted to do it. But, I wondered if I would be able to do it.”

Directed by Kabir Khan, the film also stars Bhuvan Arora, Yashpal Sharma, Vijay Raaz, Aniruddh Dave, Palak Lalwani. The film is scheduled for release on June 14.
